I've been cycling for 3 years and this will be my second year logging in over 10000 miles. I managed 12100 in 2005 and will end up with 11750 in 2006. I love to ride!

Cambuhl, I know that living in Houston allows you to rack up the miles year-round, but that is mighty impressive. How do you do it? Do you commute? Ride at night? How long is your typical ride?

I just started riding this past June and didn't start putting any serious miles on the bike until August. I feel like I ride every chance I get, but I "only" managed a little over 2000 miles for the year. I'd like to do about 4,500 in the very least next year, but 12,000 miles? Wow! Great job.

I ride about 250 miles a week, 4 nights after work (it beats sitting in that horrible traffic) and both days on the weekend. I am not a happy camper until I have at least 65 miles each day on the weekend and I try to get in 30-40 miles a night during the week. I love to ride and if I can't, I'm not happy.

ah, humbled once again by the fair ladies of TE. My answer to the original question:

    not enough

Am hoping to do more next year!

Ditto "not enough" here, too. This year between work and family issues I haven't gotten around to tabulating my mileage for the last 3 months or so. It's doubtless well north of 3500 miles, but that's way down from my last 4 years. For the new year I've decided to try not to get so resentful when obligations cut into my bike time and instead, focus on a couple of objectives and above all, the enjoyment I derive from any time I can devote to riding my bike.

Its interesting to read your mileages... though I do semi-follow those of you who post on bikejournal.com

My goal last year - my first full year of cycling - was 2500km (1543miles). I achieved that with a total of 2532.96km on the road.

I decided to raise the goal for 2006 and made it 3500km (2160miles).
As of yestreen, I had clocked up 3862.19km on the road. (I have also logged 1162km on the spin bike if that is of interest).

With four days left (though Saturday will most likely be a rest day) I am hoping to do enough to reach 4000km...

And wow, cambuhl... you must be like my partner... he does 300-400km weeks so his total every year sits somewhere between 16,000 and 22,000kms!

    "I will try again tomorrow".

This was a shorter year for me compared to last year. I, too, hope to increase next year. Including trainer miles I have just over 2100 miles with rides planned for tomorrow afternoon and Saturday (if the rain holds off long enough).
