This is my first year of logging miles. I've got 6500 right now and will probably end up with 6650- 6700.
I also live where you ride year around (well , summers here do tend to be pretty rugged). when i lived in Pennsylvania, I think I managed about 4000, with pretty much zero riding between November and April.

I bought my bike at 48.5 years. This is the first full year I have had it and logged 2060 miles, I managed to do a ride every month from April to December. Pretty rare around here except for the major masochistic hard core cyclists - the weather was just very cooperative this year.

Well, in 2 years, I have logged around 4,800 miles. Pretty meger compared to some of the hardcore cyclists I ride with.

And I think I logged around 3,300 of those miles in 2006 alone.

Cambuhl, I know that living in Houston allows you to rack up the miles year-round, but that is mighty impressive. How do you do it? Do you commute? Ride at night? How long is your typical ride?

I just started riding this past June and didn't start putting any serious miles on the bike until August. I feel like I ride every chance I get, but I "only" managed a little over 2000 miles for the year. I'd like to do about 4,500 in the very least next year, but 12,000 miles? Wow! Great job.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

I ride about 250 miles a week, 4 nights after work (it beats sitting in that horrible traffic) and both days on the weekend. I am not a happy camper until I have at least 65 miles each day on the weekend and I try to get in 30-40 miles a night during the week. I love to ride and if I can't, I'm not happy.

This was my first year. My goal was 500 km. I did just over 2700 km. I'd like to do that much next year but will be away for most of July so that might be tough. About 2/3 of those are road bike km's and most of the rest are MTbike on the road. Only a small %age are true MTbike kms.

    I love Bikejournal too!

I started riding lots of miles when I was 40 - it's six years later and this year I got in 8100 miles. Commuting helps a whole lot; I got the Xtracycle in February and the Gazelle Dutch Commuter in October or November so next year I'll have even fewer car miles in Jan and Feb. though I don't know if I"ll have a competitive thing with "Howard" on bikejournal to motivate me to do a November century and get 700+ miles in November and December again!
