in a more positive vein, National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day (US only, I gather). So, Trek, did you and Knot go out and get anything chocolate-covered? If not, then perhaps a belated celebration today is in order.

We had lunch with Bikerz, Mellisam. Spazzdog and Theresa (non TD'er, imagine that!) at Sauls

Knott picked up some chocolate covered halva which we're having now with coffee....and working on a good healthy breakfast.

Bmo3, if you want your house cleaned invite Knott over and give her waaaaay too much good coffee....my kitchen is clean yeah, I've been training...that's the ticket.

OK, KG I must oblige. BMo3 and X are busy making cookies while I'm "supervising" and posting.

So I can tell about my trip now- the surprise is out Had a good flight out, despite a longer layover in O'Hare than expected. Got to flat flat, flat Ohio around midnight and X was there to pick me up.

I hadn't had power for the last couple of days (yay for the wind storms in Portland...) so I was in dire need of R&R anyway. Got to the hotel and managed a nice bubble bath and soak- took awhile to unwind. X was about ready to collapse, but never fear, I recounted the entire trip to her non-stop until she was this close to smothering me. Consciousness was lost after some undetermineable amt. of time.

Was a slug getting up this morning... Eastern time being quite a change, y'know. Buuuuuut~ I managed to be decently 'awake' by 9ish PST, so there.
X and I headed over to BMo3's house then and here we are Jen's a great host and I'm having a great time. X is periodically reading over my shoulder, *shoo! Shoo!!!*

All is well- much better than it was a couple days ago. Great friends and ...uh... great distances... ...and great chocolate... make everything better.

I'm off to do a little boy's birthday party today. Just two 9 year olds, DH, and I going bowling, eating junk, and seeing Charlotte's Web. See y'all later!

It's 40 degrees (F) here right now. That's cold for us!! The kid is baking horse treats (thanks SK!) and we're doing some Christmas planning. Relaxed day. Have fun everyone.

Kit - It has been an extreme pleasure to finally meet you. You are even more wonderful in person, if that is possible. It's been a long time since I was this tired. Totally worth it though.

BMo3 - Thank you for having us out here with your family. You are an incredible person. If anyone is looking for a great vacation spot, come to (flat) Ohio.

Trek - Yes she has eyes! They're real and they're spectacular. So how's your little adventure going?

KG - have fun at the b-day party! Eat lots of cake.

As for baking cookies... ladies, they are also forcing me to make a Yule Log. I can't tell if it's coming out right or not. Is it supposed to look like a big blobby mound? I'm thinking not. So, we'll gather round in a circle with spoons and go at it. Same taste in the end.

mimi - Kit and I loved the biscotti! I can't believe you make that... it's so hard to make good biscotti. I have never even come close. Thanks. The handmade ornament is so cute too.

nanci - good luck with the tort. Hope you get it adopted soon.

CC- do you think if I sent you chocolate Buds that they would survive? Maybe I'll wait until it cools off there.

wow!! Kit went all the way to Ohio! how cool is that? I hope that sort of makes up for Jen's not having thanksgiving.
It is fun to see your faces, especially your faces together.

Jen I am amazed that you were able to save biscotti all week considering you have 3 sons and a husband.

X, you are quite the trouper, driving all that way and then getting Kit at the airport. (Kit that had to cost a fortune to fly out there, but i understand
escaping from your house without power!!!
