    just like the word "awe", actually.

    Norwegian has three extra vowels (don't know if these will show properly on screen in the states):

    æ - which is an "a" and an "e" written together, and pronounced like the "a" in "hat"
    ø - an "o" and an "e" written together, pronounced like the "e" in "her"
