Proud Moment -- Club of the Year

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Just wanted to brag a little (and women understand). Velo Girls, the club I founded and manage, was named the 2006 Women's Club of the Year by USA Cycling today. This has been a 5-year labor of love for me, not without it's ups & downs. It's just so nice to be recognized in the industry for our contributions.

Details here -- USA Cycling Club of the Year

We were named the Women's Club of the Year for 2003, and the Division II Club of the Year for 2004, but somehow someone in Colorado Springs missed us last year, so this was even more exciting.

Fantastic, Velogirl!! That is just great news. Thanks for doing so much to promote women's cycling. We are so lucky in the Bay Area to have programs like this and others - Luna Chix, etc.

WooHoo! Brag, and then brag some more!

Thanks for all of the effort you put in to help promote women's cycling! You are an inspiration to people (like me) trying to do similar things on the opposite coast!

    You go girl!

Congrats, Velogirl and Velo Girls!!! What an accomplishment!

GLC1968, you might want to look into Atlanta-based Sorella Cycling (www.SorellaCycling.com). One of our members is the manager at that new REI in North Carolina, and we have a few strays outside of Atlanta - one very active one in Macon, one in New Jersey, one in Colorado and a recent move out to San Fran. While you might miss some of the group rides, you could come down for our clinics, and our forum has lots of talk about training and whatnot.
