20 miles, 1000 feet of climbing in the pouring rain, very blustery.
But fun anyway, in a squishy sort of way.

30 miles by the tree farm. I did loops so I never had to do more than 1.5 miles into the 16 mph wind (which is down a titch from what it has been). Of course the usual 5 mile commute to church, and then little back and forth stuff... nwo it's off into the night on my Gazelle to keep aiming at that elusive 8000. (I *just* eked by 7700... if I can stay ahead of Howard for 300 more miles...)
Don't think it topped 43 - and blustery with occasional spits of water from the clouds. I think it's gotten a little nicer now though...
40km (25mi) on the Lochside rail-trail. First decent riding op in a month; 10C/50F, finally not snowing or blowing or monsooning. Sure can feel the effects of not being able to ride regularly for a while: avg speed down, legs rubbery.
Passed the 3000km (1850mi) mark for the year (my goal was 2500km), so I'm happy.

Forty miles starting at sunrise. It was cold at first (29 degrees) but it warmed up a bit as the miles went on and the sun came up.
24 miles, did one of our loops backwards. It was about 50, with some wind. I wore my new Performance fleece tundra shirt as a jacket, with a base layer underneath. It was perfect, just had to unzip a little.
I bagged the monster hill at the end and took an alternate way back to my friend's house, where we had tea and hot chocolate. My friend was far behind me, so I caught another woman and rode behind her for about a mile.
My legs are killing me from Graham Street's hindu squats...
40 miles. in the fifties. I decided to do some climbing (about 2000 feet with 1/4 mile of 15% grade). The only problem was the wind on the descent (both keeping warm, as well as being blown all over the road). Was pleanstaly surprised at my avg speed![]()
27 miles, about 50 degrees, calm wind, bright sunshine. Beautiful ride - wore a short-sleeved jersey, arm warmers, knee warmers, short finger gloves & helmet and was perfectly warm. The ride began with about a 1.5 mile climb so we warmed up pretty quickly. It's one of my favorite routes through backroads with lots of twists & turns and great downhills (unfortunately followed by uphills)!
