    Mimi,
Perhaps I flipped... when I should have flopped.

So what highway do all those socks that disappear from the dryer wind up on?

    Dear Former Apartment Complex,

Thanks for sticking us with a huge bill for replacing the carpet. $832 seems really high for less than 700 sq ft of cheap carpet. I was thinking I would get a new bike soon, but I guess you can have half the money. I will try to wait patiently to save an extra $800 towards the bike.

    Signed,
Happy to be a home owner and not a renter!

    Dear Dodge Durango Driver,

Thank you for pulling over and blocking the pit bull and chow that was chasing me today as I rode. The honking and car coming towards them surely distracted them so I could make it safely up the hill. I was to scared to turn around to offer a friendly thank you wave, but I know you quite possibly saved me from a nasty dog encounter.

Thanks for looking out for me,
    The cyclist in Liberty Hill

    Dear Aggie Ama,
I think that post should also go to your local paper, which maybe that driver reads. And maybe the dog owner(s) too, although they may be illiterate as well as inconsiderate, seeing as they're letting those dogs run loose, which is probably illegal. I'm glad that driver helped out; glad not all drivers are crazy bike-haters.

I just sent a note to the publisher of our small town paper. I am hoping they will publish my thank you.

    Dear Coworkers

Please stop bringing your leftover Christmas candy - especially chocolate - to work. It's not like I didn't have enough at home tempting me for the last few weeks. Sigh...

    Dear Powers that be,

This year is not starting off on a good foot. First, on New Years, we put my Mother-in-law in the hospital. DH and I seemed to be the only ones thinking this could be it for her. She reminded me so much of Megan before she passed. So on Friday, she went to see my precious Megan and be with her. Then, on the way home from the hospital, the car starts acting up again. Sunday, it wouldn't let me go to church because it decided to blow a head gasket. Then, the electricity deposit was due and we totally forgot because of my mother-in-law, so the nice people at the electric company shut off the electricity. Unfortunatly, this is coming at the worst possible time. PLEASE!!! Let some good stuff start happening again. We could really use the break.

    Sincerely,

Really wanting the year to get better

    Dear Self.

Please remember to take the Boyfriend out of the house before locking the deadbolt. That way he won't scratch the door until he is let out.

    Thanks

Best wishes. With all these tragedies and irritations happening at once, there's got to be a lot of the good stuff left for the rest of the year.

My letter was published. It was cast away in a small cluttered "letters to the editor" box, but it was there. I feel like I was able to "Thank" the motorist.

((((CBC)))) I hope the electric company could have a heart and turn on the electricity without issue. Hopefully all the bad is gone for 2007, you shouldn't have so much at once. (((hugs)))

Here's wishing you a major upswing in how the year progresses. Hang in and bike your frustrations away as much as possible.
