Knot - yikes girl! But what a positive outlook you have on the whole situation. Enjoy the shoes and tights and we'll keep our fingers crossed a copy shows up for you.

OTG & Trek - don't say such things! You guys pray my car holds up for two more days. I told the guy yesterday he was getting it if I had to push, pull or drag it there OTG, (that comma was just for you, btw!) keep your chin up and resist the urge to b*&*& slap someone.

Kit, sounds like good bday plans. Enjoy the day little sista!

Nanci, glad to hear Addy ate - yippee!

Lise, yuck on the migraine. Hope you're feeling better. If you'll be around tonight I'd like to try and chat. I won't be available until after 9 so let me know if that would work.

BMo3, love your tree! We're gonna go pick one up tonight hopefully. Have fun running in the cool weather.

Mimi, are we any busier at work this week? Our owner came in this week and fiddled with the furnace and now it's not working. This guy needs a hobby (like retirement) but what can you do when he owns the place?? Now we are all freezing our a$$es off

yes, we are testing this week. not at my desk looking out the window today.
I have a thermometer at my desk all the time so i can call in when it gets cold.
and I know when it gets cold because of the thermometer. otherwise
I get shrugged off because i am a female.

I really want to meet my bike goal. I have about 90 miles to go by the end of the year! I need to bike in the basement almost every night! eeek.

What is a GRE and I'm sorry you don't have it. That's stupid to EVER purge them.

Graduate Record Exams. Kinda the gold standard hoop for students to jump through for most grad schools regardless of subject. (kinda like the SAT for undergrads)

<quiet little hopeful voice> The U.W. still has my GRE scores in my undergrad file! And they are official! Now I'm waiting from a call from the library school to tell me if they will accept such old scores. <end quiet voice>

HOT DOGGIES!!!! I was sure those puppies would be long gone, but the student records office still has 'em! Thank you everyone who suggested I call student records!

I like my high-90's percentile scores... they are my friends, and I still got 'em in the magical electronic world of student records!

Now the library school just has to accept them...

I just PMd you about this. I should read before writing. I do so hope they accept them. Whe I wanted to go back for a 2nd masters, I was told my scores were too old. They needed to be within 5 years. I have no idea if that is a universal standard or not.

Upside, being a non-tradition student and me being semi-hysterical at the grad school office, they were willing to find me a GRE testing facility asap, so I could apply.

After that rollercoaster (try finding 3 professional refverences when you are a SAHM), we ended up moving. Now my scores are too "old again. At least for here.

Wishing you far greater successful and peace.

Knot - Hopefully, they will take your old scores! If not, you'll do way better the second time!

Nanci: Glad Addy is eating. When does a snake like her have to eat again?

Xray: I pm'd you re Cindarella - you should do it. I'm thinking about traveling out to ride it

Knot, so sorry. That's awful. You study hard again and I bet you'll beat your score, too.

X, I can see if I remember my old bike route, but definitely not until the spring. Penn State is where I got hit by a car. I was coming home from the Collegian on Beaver Avenue, a two-lane road. I was ripping it at 35-40 mph and keeping up with traffic. I had taken the entire lane. A car on a cross street wanted to go straight and didn't see me. Plowed into the driver's side of the car and flew over it. I don't want to bike that road again.

It is pretty bike out there -- lots of cows. And Long Island iced teas afterwards.

    In other news...
I'm picking up my orthotics at lunch today. First there was a big goof-up with the insurance coverage. Then they had said they'd come in the week of the 20th, but they didn't because of Thanksgiving. Then they said they'd call when they came in. I called yesterday, and they had in fact come in last week, but they never called. I asked if I could pick them up in the morning, but the lady said she couldn't tell what days they'd be open before 8. Why oh why are doctors' offices so completely incompetent?

    I know I said I didn't care about my weigh-in, but I am getting a bit nervous. We'll see.
