Knot, you can do what T.G.I. Friday's does and bread the carrot and fry it. Only the restaurant did it with green beans. And many was it good. (I only had a couple to taste; someone had to do it.)

Re: cars. Yeah, I gotta get serious about saving for a replacement. My car's been absolutely unreliable, and I've spent so much on repairs. Hopefully I can save enough before the next big repair hits, but that means I have to stop spending on bike stuff.

    Enjoy the new Pilot!

My weight's been all over the place the last couple days, so not sure what tomorrow's weigh-in will bring. Sunday I was up two pounds, then today only up a quarter-pound, so probably I stayed the same or lost just a tad. I'm not so worried about it though because my pants are starting to fall off, so I know my body's getting slimmer.

Well, I gotta run to bed; tomorrow's a swimming morning.

I'm getting low on Scharffen Berger chocolate. Gonna have to make a run down to Berkeley CA to get some more! Maybe I'll go next week...

Yay for Addy! Yay for Knot's culinary skills! Yay for AG's bday! Yay for OTG's pants falling off! (well, you know what I mean).

I am really frustrated. I had one credit card on auto-pay. I paid it off. They keep taking my $300 every month. I thought I'd solved the problem last month, when I got my $300 refund, and "cancelled" the auto pay. Today I get a statement with another $300 credit. Argh. It is next to impossible to get a person to talk to me about it.

My cat (Ariel), has a new obsession. I used "skin shield" on the many nicks and papercuts I get on my hands, especially in the winter. The danged cat can smell freshly applied Skin Shield from across the apartment, and jumps up on the desk to sniff my hands until she finds the place it was applied, and then tries to lick it all off. Just now she did that as I was typing, and bit the spot when she found it! At that point she was dumped on the floor. It's kind of cute to have her sniffing all over my hands, but I can't imagine it does her little pea brain any good to lick Skin Shield. Kind of like sniffing glue for kitties?

Aggravating staff meeting tonight--tough things to talk about--money and scheduling. I finally decided that this headache is a migraine, and took some Maxalt. My migraines are nothing like BM3's, I'm grateful to report. Now I'm going to bed. Also grateful for a really quiet call shift. Sleep tight, TD.

Ug, tomorrow I start the application process for grad school: jump thru this hoop, jump thru that hoop, dig out these records, send those records, write this essay, get three reference letters, have anxiety fit over this detail, bust out in tears over that detail, tear out some hair, try to explain coherently and concisely and convincingly why a 40 year-old single mom with no money should be allowed to be one of the 1 in 4 who make it into the program...

whine. And I already ate the last of my chocolate!

They LOVE applicants like you, way more than fresh-out-of-undergrads with no experience of any kind beyond dorm puking/cleaning thereof. No kidding. Is it the PT program?

And is anyone from California going to be visiting here soon, maybe?

The chickie at GRE suggested I ask my undergrad school if they have copies. I don't think I had them sent, because I had graduated already when I took the GRE. It wouldn't hurt to ask. But I also doubt they kept them this long.

I surfed over to the admissions website again. The library school doesn't care how old your scores are, but they have to have official copies sent from the testing service. Since those are only held 5 years, I might've been toast anyway. I don't think my old paper copy would've counted.

It might have been shredded for nothing. (ha!)

I will now order new running shoes and maybe new running pants, have a wonderful vacation and happy holidays, then knuckle down and train for my tri and study for my GRE and get everything ready to apply next year.

    Sigh.

Knot - yikes girl! But what a positive outlook you have on the whole situation. Enjoy the shoes and tights and we'll keep our fingers crossed a copy shows up for you.

OTG & Trek - don't say such things! You guys pray my car holds up for two more days. I told the guy yesterday he was getting it if I had to push, pull or drag it there OTG, (that comma was just for you, btw!) keep your chin up and resist the urge to b*&*& slap someone.

Kit, sounds like good bday plans. Enjoy the day little sista!

Nanci, glad to hear Addy ate - yippee!

Lise, yuck on the migraine. Hope you're feeling better. If you'll be around tonight I'd like to try and chat. I won't be available until after 9 so let me know if that would work.

BMo3, love your tree! We're gonna go pick one up tonight hopefully. Have fun running in the cool weather.

Mimi, are we any busier at work this week? Our owner came in this week and fiddled with the furnace and now it's not working. This guy needs a hobby (like retirement) but what can you do when he owns the place?? Now we are all freezing our a$$es off

yes, we are testing this week. not at my desk looking out the window today.
I have a thermometer at my desk all the time so i can call in when it gets cold.
and I know when it gets cold because of the thermometer. otherwise
I get shrugged off because i am a female.

I really want to meet my bike goal. I have about 90 miles to go by the end of the year! I need to bike in the basement almost every night! eeek.
