Thanks for the good advice. I have run VPC on my Mac and really hated it. Not only did it bog down, but I had occasional system crashes until I exorcised it from my computer, much like when I ran OS9 and OSX together. I decided to scrap the S625x and go with a much cheaper model, the F11 for women, until Polar can get up to speed with compatibility issues. I really don't want to spend too much time, money or energy on it. Personally, I feel that it's something the manufacturer should be addressing, not the consumer.

P.S. I wrote to PolarUSA but got no response.

Sorry to hear you had bad experience w/ the VPC. Must just be a decent option for the very newest Macs and the newest VM version.

Please PM me on how you like the F11 if you get it. It's on my Christmas list right now--hope I asked for a good one!

Manufacturers should work on interoperability issues, but they run into cross-licensing problems sometimes and they think it's not worth the trouble. I'm kind of confused how the "sonic uplink" works with PCs anyway... They don't have much information on it at all. Just stuff on the infrared which I think they're phasing out.

I have the F11 and it works pretty well. You can set programs and it keeps track of your progress.
You should never stop learning: :
