Wahooeey! What a day kids.
I volunteered on the bike leg down in busso & had a blast.
First of all, I have to thank LittleBlackDuck for her hospitality last night! It was great to finally meet up with her/you.
Saturday afternoon was a hoot-I went down to the course to chalk some of the Wellbeings(www.wellbeings.com.au) the tri group i swim/run with) crew's names & ended up meeting a participant from White Rock(bc). I made sure her name was chalked on the run course as it was thier first time!!! They also mentioned Western Australia was a great place to hold the event..no matter how farrrrrrr we are!!
At the B &B I stayed at there was a gent from the UK & it was his 20th Ironman. He's done a Deca Man event!!!!! Interesting gent & I sure hope he did well today.
Later on caught up with LBD & her crew but had to leave them a smidgen early as daylight savings came in last night & thought it might just be a good idea to get to bed early!
This morning I ventured to my spot on the course & lathered on the sunscreen(thanks shellj..) about 6am & was told to expect the first athlete through at around 7am..
Sure enough Luke Bell came zipping through & around the tight corner. It was very sunny & hard to see going into the corner so my little arm & I ensured the cyclists new the way to go.![]()
I'm a bit nackered after standing in the sun all day-6am to 230pm in almost the same spot!!! I'll continue this post tomorrow after a nice sleep.
