How in the world do you pronounce them differently? You guys are making me feel like such a redneck with today's English lesson BMo3, are you picking on our long "o"'s sounds, lol. I had a guy grill me on words like that before I realized why he was doing it.

I'm bored. I don't want to work. Still in the 50's and raining and tonight it will plummet to the 20's and stay cold. I know better than to ask Kit if I should ride my bike in this, but I could at least put the fenders on my mtb.

DebW and all you other mechanically minded folks: Is there a better tire to use in the winter on my mtb than my standard mtb tires? I plan on riding it on the road. What exactly are studded tires?

I am alway teased about (a boot) they way I pronouce numerous words. I assumed everyone talked that way for the longest time.

What really threw me for a loop was moving to WI and hearing a water fountain referred to as a "bubbler".

what threw me was moving to arizona and them calling it a water fountain. a what? isn't that one of those fancy water things that sit outside big important buildings?

CWR-you need to come here. Ever seen the show King of the Hill> Many here sound like Boomhauer (I have no idea if that is how his name is spelled, I have only seen the show a few times), which is fine, except I cannot understand them.
If you want to go someplace without any real accent, visit where I lived in Wyoming. FYI, there was not one water fountain or bubbler in the town.

As for your feet young lady. You must not delay any longer then you are already. I can understand why they would want to do one then the other, so you can actually move about. Will you have someone to help care for you? If so, push to have both done at the same time. Otherwise, it will most likely be one at a time. We will help get you through it. Look how long i have been off a bike and i am still sane. Oh, bad example.

BM3 BF said that he would take care of me, but he wants to have hand surgery at the same time i have my foot surgery so we can be gimped up in the hotel together. great plan i think. at least i'll take the pain pills even if they make me a little wooey in the tummy. he won't, so we all know what a guy in pain is like.... if all else fails, if i'm in town for a while, i'll call up my friend and have her come and save me!

at least if we are in town for a while, i don't have to cook. we can eat out!

My short attention span and painfully slow typing skills are not helping me keep up with this thread! I think I need to start taking notes.....

Lise: Hair too?!?! You hit the jackpot! J. sounds great. Your story makes me all warm and fuzzy. Just heard from my bestest friend from high school. She married a guy last Oct. that she met thru match. He's a keeper too, and she sooooo deserves that after all the nutballs she went thru.

Why do guys just disappear like that? That's the one downside to match. When you see that they're still active, the "he must've got hit by a bus" theory goes right out the window.

CWR: see....the problem is that I don't have one to stick with...

OTG: I LOVE those shirts. Can I maybe steel that for our club event t-shirts. (The Quad-County Metric...it fits that definition too)

I was just crowned the new SAG chairperson for my club. I'm kinda excited. The job description I was given by the guy I'm taking over for was, and I quote, "you will be in charge of telling people where to go". OOOH YEAH

CWR: have a great vacation! Are you going anywhere special or just lounging around the house (and if you posted on this a gabillion pages ago...no need to be redundant, I'll go back. Kit is the secretary, right?) Sorry, like I said...short attent....oh yeah, where was I?
