I would LOVE to actually visit every state. I've been in many, but often as a kid so some of them I don't remember.

I'd love to visit and have time at every National Park.

I'd love to visit all the "ghost towns" that are left.

I want to visit the Alamo... and the Grand Canyon (only 6 hours drive... I really SHOULD just go!)

I want to whitewater raft the Snake River.

Out of the country... I want to do a birding expedition of the Outback in Australia... want to visit Greece, Spain and Italy. Someday make it to Switzerland, Denmark and Norway... really want to go back and see more of Scotland (the highlands) and England as well... and I'd love to have time to explore the provinces of Canada... I've been to BC only and loved it.

clearly I need more time off and better pay.

I just found this thread & I love reading where everyone would like to go!

BCIpam & Trek - c'mon to Virginia! I can't say I have cycled everywhere in the state, but the places I have are indeed a cyclist's dream. Especially right where I live - lots of hills and mountains but friendly traffic on hundreds of miles of paved back roads. (That said, I will probably meet the driver from hell next time I'm out!)

Trek - you mentioned Monticello. I am about 40 miles from there & there is some awesome cycling nearby. Give me a shout and I will go with you!

As for where I would love to go:

Colorado - I can never get enough of those mountains. And the Anasazi ruins. And the Telluride Bluegrass Festival...

Alaska - I have never been & have a dear friend in Fairbanks. I hear it is gorgeous and someday I hope to see it.

Northern Idaho - My SO lived in Sandpoint and it sounds gorgeous.

Pacific Northwest - Not to visit the first Starbucks (I'm a Peets & Jittery Joes fan myself), but to see the coast and Mt. Ranier and...and...the SPACE NEEDLE.

I'm up for a trip to just about anywhere, but specifically, I'm still planning a Vancouver to Key West tour. High points to include Mickelson Trail in SD, Katy Trail, and 'most anything else on the way. Child of the desert that I am, I have a fascination with Big, Scary water. Any Anywhere trip I take would have to include a lot of water - or maybe a ferry trip or seven.

I've also wanted to go to Ravenna, Italy for most of my life. I've gotten kind of close a couple of times, but I want to go see those mosaics.

I hear there are neat places to cycle in Austraila and France, and Germany, and England, and, um, the rest of the world.

    Sigh...all I'm missing is a largish fortune...
