I have a one-car garage - and my car is happy to share it with all of my bikes. I use a "lean-against-the-wall" rack that I got from Performance - it fits 2 bikes, and also fits in the garage to the side of my car. The bikes hang parallel to the wall so both types of vehicles really do fit. Here's a link to the page with their storage racks.
