    Winter triathlon

Has anyone here ever tried this? It´s running, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Maybe it´s just a German thing, but it sounds like fun, although I´m not sure about mountain biking on snow.

Does sound like a german thing but it might be fun!

I've mountain biked in the snow.
The mountain biking part could turn into a hike though. Sometimes you can ride in the snow if it is not too deep and not too icy. When it gets real deep and icy, it just turns into a point in a direction and ride as much as you can and get off and push kind of thing!

That really sounds cool (no pun intended).

One of the local resorts here puts on a "Leadman" triathlon that combines downhill (alpine) skiing/snowboarding with mountain biking and running. They do it in the spring, so you're likely to be mountain biking in some snow, but mostly mud mud mud. I think it would be cool, but I'm not much of a mountain biker. Maybe a good reason to try

That sounds like a blast! for someone else that is

I am a poor runner, have never mountain biked and have pretty poor x-country skiing skills (although I plan to change that this winter)

What a great way though to make winter FUN! You can't beat it so embrace it.

It's about the journey and being in the moment, not about the destination

There is a pentathlon around Mt. Washington, NH in the spring that involves running, kayaking, road biking, hiking, and skiing. The roads are dry, the woods are snowy, the whitewater is running, and a hike takes you into Tuckerman Bowl for a snow climb/downhill ski.
