Wow! That sounds like so much fun. I've always thought a cyclocross stage race would be cool.

Which one were you in the photo?

The 'cross race was only one stage. Threw slicks on the 'cross frame for the TT and crit - both were on pavement. It was a lot of fun though.

I am the 3rd from the left in the photo. Here's another of me suffering .

That sounds like such a blast!

Well, a sick blast, but a blast nonetheless! Good job not throwing in the towel! I think I would have run back to the car after just looking up the Mt. Washington access road!

    Good Job!!

    Results, Photos and More...

The promoters of this race have just posted all of the race results as well as photos from the event (including some from inside Storyland - we weren't allowed in unless on our bikes and racing, so these are the only pics inside the park). They also posted my race report . Here's the link if you are interested in reading more: http://www.greatglentrails.com/index...0Glen%20Winter

This is great, Cathy! You've inspired me. I've decied I'm going to promote a cyclocross stage race next season. I've always wanted to promote a cyclocross race but we've already got five very active series in the area and I needed a niche since most one-off races don't draw the crowds. Now I just need to find a location. I'm going to do a TT on Saturday morning, dirt crit on Saturday afternoon, and a traditional cross race on Sunday. All on cross bikes.

Woohoo! Sign me up . While ours was an on/off road stage race, I think your idea for a full-on 'cross stage race is great! The TT effort should be relatively short, time wise (not a lesser effort, by any means!). We started the TT at 10:00 am, and I think we were up, down, changed and packed up by 11:30 which worked out well for a venue change and 2:00 pm start for the crit. Of course, it all depends on how many participants you get.

If you want to bounce ideas around, let me know. This sounds like a GREAT concept!
