Ibex Ultimate Guide Sweater

I want some Ibex! one of you guys might have picked up the medium in blue of the ultimate guide sweater already! I don't even think that one would have fit me- I was planning on shrinking it. (being 5'2" is rough) Egads I am not sure what to do. I think the grey looks to mannish. I might have to buy the uber expensive icebreaker line. Does anyone have any recommedations for a similar sweater along the same line? you guys seem to have a lot of ibex going on.

Oh, oh. I was able to resist clicking on this thread until now. And now that I've seen that this UGS is in blue!!!! I absolutely positively must have it.

If you're considering going the uber expensive Icebreaker route, then consider also the Ibex LongTrail sweater that's NOT on sale, and also their Ibex "midlayer" category Switchback line and Carrie hoody are pretty heavy and sweaterlike. I have the switchback pullover and it's wonderfully thick and warm. The small switchback pullover would fit you. I wear the small and I'm 5'5" 140 lbs. The medium was a bit too roomy on me, I wanted it more form fitting.

thanks! I was thinking about the switchback pullover. How tight is it? I want to be able to wear a jacket above it for biking along the river. I don't want to be too "flappy" when I am wearing it either- gotta show off the figure! But either way it is half the price of ice breaker stuff.

I thought of the long trail but I think the stripe down the back is funky not fashionable (sorry if I hurt some feelings, I am just a no frills kind of girl.

ps and how could you not know about blue! it is the prettiest thing in the whole wide world

The Switchback pullover is not flappy.
I am 5'5", 140 lbs, pear-shaped. The medium fits me with a bit of room for underlayers, but I went for the small instead because it fit me like a glove and looked very tailored and sleek on me. I *could* have worn either size, but I have small shoulders and the small one had the shoulders seams in just the right place for me. Also, I only wear their ultra thin merino base layer under it, so I didn't need the extra room for things underneath it. It is by no means loose or flappy, the neck and sleeves are fitted and you could easily slide a jacket over them. It's a very nice thick soft kind of wool weave with a nice texture more like a sweater, not smooth.
I love the Ibex persimmon color in traffic!

I have the Switchback full zip. I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs and wear a Large in Ibex tops. Loooooong arms and Loooooong torso and sort of wide shoulders.

My Switchback *is* flappy and loose on me, but I wear it as a jacket over other clothes so it's ok.

The length on it is perfect. I've been finding that Ibex sizes are pretty standard across the different styles. All my tops are L and all fit great.

I got the UGS in XL. Though I'm short, I'm not exactly petite, KWIM?
