Oh goodness, I have ideas, but who know what will actually happen. I know that I won't do all of these, but this is what I'm looking towards.

    January - strength/base building focus
February - run focus - possible 1/2 mary, the Mercedes Mary in Birmingham
    March - bike focus

April - Whistlestop Duathlon - part of the powerman series, just shorter distance than the full powerman; also swim focus

May - work on bricks - consider doing Oly distance this month - Memphis in May (Would change training schedule to get in more swimming earlier); also my first tri ever is this month (Y-tri in Birmingham) - may do it to see how I've changed

June - Buster Britton Tri (can you say hills - there is no flat section on the entire bike or run - the transition area is even on a hill; and some of these are pretty steep)

July - consider Chatanooga (Sp?) Oly Tri; also Wet Dog Tri

August - Hiwaay sprint (may just volunteer here), Mountain Lakes tri, Rocketman tri

    September - Frantic Frog

October - duathlon, music city tri (I think this month - Oly - questionable)

    November - Huntsville 1/2 mary

I just want to get in one olympic distance next year, and I have 2, maybe 3 to choose from. I'll probably do on average one race per month, and I'll try to peak for the WhistleStop Duathlon in April, whichever Oly I do, and then either Buster Britton or Rocketman.

    Here's my tentative plans:

winter: indoor training, XC skiing and snowshoeing with the dogs

June: Tri For Real #1, olympic length, Sacramento, CA

July: Donner Lake International Tri., olympic length, Truckee, Ca I had to pull out of this one last year because of a calf injury.

August: *fingers crossed* Barb's Triathlon, HIM, Sacramento, Ca . I hope, I hope I can do this length.

(Sacramento in the summer is SOOO hot.)

    Schedule change already

The MS Society moved the PA Dutch bike tour from June to ... guess when ... July 21 and 22 (Ironman Lake Placid weekend! I be volunteering).

    So, I was really bummed.

But then I looked further on the MS Society Web page, and they moved the City to Shore, too!!!! Last year it was on the same weekend as A race triathlon is going to be next year. They moved it to the end of September. I can do City to Shore (N.J.), and it's even better because it's MUCH flatter than PA Dutch.

    So, boo but yeah!

I am a breast stroker only, my two kids spent four days teaching me to put my face in the water after 41 years and I am hoping to better my time for the distance which is just over the cut off at 106 mins. (I am not doing it for the time!) Husband set up my bike and I am doing 40 min turbo sessions and a long outdoor ride at the weekend.

Staggered the Great South Run last weekend which is 10 miles and didn't do very well as the weather was atrocious, but I know I can improve. Been out for two 40 min runs this week.

It is only one event, and doesn't look good compared to you guys, but I have been training for 6 weeks with 32 to go! until my first HIM!!
Do you know of any Triathlons in Europe/UK that I could do. I like doing the Sprints or short distance tri's only. I live in Amsterdam now and am from the states. I went to trimapper but the races seem for triathletes who are really really serious.

I am looking back at my list of races that I posted in November, and laughing. My entire focus has changed.
Several of the races have been canceled this year, and I am going Xterra...my how things have changed.

    look on trifind.com

I am not sure if they list only races in the states or not......

    2007 Schedule

I am new to the forum but this post looks fun.

April - SLC Half Marathon, goal to finish under 2:30.

June - Little Red Riding Hood, goal is to complete the metric century.

July - Bryce Canyon 1/2 Marthon, goal finish under 2:15, very fast course 7+ miles of pretty serious down hill. Echo Triathlon (sprint distance) this will be my 3rd tri, so my goal is to finish while not making the same mistake from my first two.

August - Jordanelle Triathlon (sprint distance), goal same as Echo

September - Ogden Valley Triathlon (sprint distance)

October - The Other Half Marathon, Moab, UT - this one has some nasty hills, my goal is to prepare for them.

December - Las Vegas Marathon (fingers crossed) my first full marathon.

    I am sooooo excited.

    Happy Training All
    Jen

My schedule has changed somewhat from earlier this year. Right now I have only entered my first race. I'll get the others in when I know what my schedule will be.

    April: Whistlestop duathlon - 4.5krun/ ~30K bike/4.5krun

May: Y-tri - 200yard pool swim/9mi bike/1.5mi run - this was my first tri ever so I want to see how I've improved

June: Buster Britton - sprint race with lots of rolling hills

    July: Chatanooga (sp?) Olympic

rest of the year is still pretty open, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
