I've got several "event" rides planned but no real races.
May: Joe's Ride, 28 miles, a local charity ride in Olney, MD
June: American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure, Stillwater, NY, 50 miles (I did the 25 miler this year, my first real event ride)
August: Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon, 1k swim/30k ride/5k run, Columbia, MD (technically this is a race, but for me it really all about survival)
September: Civil War Century, 50 miler, Thurmont, MD (did the 25 miler this year)
October: Seagull Century, metric century, Salisbury, MD
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Oh goodness, I have ideas, but who know what will actually happen. I know that I won't do all of these, but this is what I'm looking towards.
January - strength/base building focus
February - run focus - possible 1/2 mary, the Mercedes Mary in Birmingham
March - bike focus
April - Whistlestop Duathlon - part of the powerman series, just shorter distance than the full powerman; also swim focus
May - work on bricks - consider doing Oly distance this month - Memphis in May (Would change training schedule to get in more swimming earlier); also my first tri ever is this month (Y-tri in Birmingham) - may do it to see how I've changed
June - Buster Britton Tri (can you say hills - there is no flat section on the entire bike or run - the transition area is even on a hill; and some of these are pretty steep)
July - consider Chatanooga (Sp?) Oly Tri; also Wet Dog Tri
August - Hiwaay sprint (may just volunteer here), Mountain Lakes tri, Rocketman tri
September - Frantic Frog
October - duathlon, music city tri (I think this month - Oly - questionable)
November - Huntsville 1/2 mary
I just want to get in one olympic distance next year, and I have 2, maybe 3 to choose from. I'll probably do on average one race per month, and I'll try to peak for the WhistleStop Duathlon in April, whichever Oly I do, and then either Buster Britton or Rocketman.
Here's my tentative plans:
winter: indoor training, XC skiing and snowshoeing with the dogs
June: Tri For Real #1, olympic length, Sacramento, CA
July: Donner Lake International Tri., olympic length, Truckee, Ca I had to pull out of this one last year because of a calf injury.
August: *fingers crossed* Barb's Triathlon, HIM, Sacramento, Ca . I hope, I hope I can do this length.
(Sacramento in the summer is SOOO hot.)
The MS Society moved the PA Dutch bike tour from June to ... guess when ... July 21 and 22 (Ironman Lake Placid weekend! I be volunteering).
So, I was really bummed.
But then I looked further on the MS Society Web page, and they moved the City to Shore, too!!!! Last year it was on the same weekend as A race triathlon is going to be next year. They moved it to the end of September. I can do City to Shore (N.J.), and it's even better because it's MUCH flatter than PA Dutch.
So, boo but yeah!
