OMG, I'm just seeing this now--poor Silver--so sorry! I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt any worse, though. Keep your wounds slathered in something like Neosporin, so they'll heal faster and less chance of scarring. Sounds like you've got one terrific guy taking care of you (not to mention one terrific surprise to come home to.)

Sending hugs and compassionate, healing thoughts your way.

Silver - so sorry to hear this news. Seems like there have been so many crashes among TE gals this year. I had my big crash (fractured pelvis in 3 places, surgery) last year, so I can unfortunately relate to what you're going through and will continue to go through during your recovery for some time to come. However, I'll also say that I'm back to running, hiking, and riding (mountain more than road) now, and I appreciate what my body can do so much more than I did before I ever crashed and went through months of not being able to do much at all. I remember thinking "Will I ever be able to power walk again?" And now I'm running! Really puts things into perspective and helps you feel grateful for life itself.

You'll be in my thoughts. Be good to yourself and take all the time you need to come back.

    HE SAID:
Update: She's up to five broken ribs, small pneumothorax (mildly collapsed lung?), and the pain is getting worse. In addition, now that I'm on the TE site twice in one day, I'm feeling a little 'girly'. Not sure if she'll be home today or not...

Good news is: a) I've done a lot of laundry today and b) I just bought the new Trek Medone she's been wanting to cheer her up. Shhh! It's still a secret...

wow! this IS one cool dude!

Hey do you think if you keep reading TE you'll start baking cakes and taking up knitting too?
