*yawn* Feeling very content tonight before bed. Full of chinese from a very talented friend's restaurant. Comfy in my jammies on the couch and under my blankie. Got the house to myself. Mozart playing on the laptop. Glass of Ocean Spray CranCherry nearby. (my favorite juice - aaaaaah.) Alas, it's time to brush, floss and get some shuteye. Gotta metric in the morning in DE. Life is good at the moment. (Rule of moments: They can be as long or as short as you choose them to be.)
Sweet dreams TD'ers.![]()

After I wore this stupid boring black walking boot for a week, I knew it needed decoration. I bought a GeMagic machine for a friend's nine year old daughter and said, "Would you please do a tasteful design in gems on this boot?" A great improvement, don't you think? It made both our days (not sure what this says about me, but who cares?).

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
It's very pretty!
I'm at work today- OT :-) I also am taking someone's day after Thanksgiving for double time and $50 cash, and the Saturday after Thanksgiving (ew, 1-11 PM) for OT and $50 cash. Maybe I will recover from the septic tank yet...
I love it how people pay you to work for them- that's great.
I think I am going to try to feed Addy tonight. I am so nervous- I have grown very attached to her. She has the funniest personality.
Snap- I would compare the stink of snake poop to cat semi-diarrhea. It's very, very smelly.

Last night my brother and I had a party for our folks, it was their 50th wedding anniversary and it was WONDERFUL!! Before the evening got going my mom asked me how I felt about her passing on her wedding ring (that she can't wear anymore...arthritis) to my 23 year old niece (and only grandchild), I told her I thought it was a beautiful thing to do and she has my full support. Anyhoo, fantastic night with lots of stories, tears, jokes, and laughter. I am blessed.

Salsa, i love what you had done to your boot! I have a girlfriend who is also languishing in one of those. I will have to tell her about that.
Happy Anniversary to your parents, Queen! I like what you are doing with the ring. Unselfishness goes a long long way.
My parents haven't shared the same room since 1960...
Nanci, cat diarrhea in my hair would be pretty bad. So snake stools are loose?
x, your evening sounds wonderful
knot you riding today?
I have to go shopping for my trip. I need inexpensive gifts for Italian cousins.
I'm going to get every girl cousin a colorful silicon spatula.
Nothing like being the only one in the city awake before 5am. Oh, that is, me and the thieves who break into cars...
Queen, my congrats to your parents - an awesome accomplishment under any circumstances, but you can tell by the look in their eyes that they are still and truely in love.
I think it is wonderful that your mom is handing the ring to your niece - and that you are in support of it. I hate when people start squabbling over their parents possessions.

Salsa - love the boot!
Queen - congrats to your parents. Very cool. They look like fun folks.
Mimi - yup, I'm gonna try to ride, depending on weather. Wanna meet me somewhere?
I'm feeling a little lonely this morning, so even though I have a ton of housework that needs to be done, I'll probably go out. Library if it's raining, riding if it's not.
Title 9 is having their warehouse sale here in Seattle. I'd go, but I have no money. I really need some work pants that won't fall off my hips!

ah, Knot, i'd love to ride with you but i promised a friend i'd meet her at Seward Park and walk with her at 830!!. (So instead i will RIDE to Seward Park to meet her, so at least i get a little riding in)
i guess i'd better get dressed.!!
Queen, Congrats to your parents and many many more. They sound and look like great folks but of course the apple does not fall far from the tree.![]()
These were too big to upload so...pictures of my Mom and Dad at their 60th!

Mom's on her 2nd wedding band. Her plain gold band wore through. She had family friend Oppi Untracht melt it down and design a new one...now that's wearing out.

X- You'll appreciate this. How (and why) am I supposed to do standing TL spine films on a woman in a vegetative state??? And, what do they expect to see in an abdomen film, where the doctor is injecting water into a fistula? (That guy came down yesterday, said he had an IV contrast allergy and would stop breathing- so we had him reschedule till Monday when he can be premedicated. Not like our contrast is going to get into his circulatory system, but you never know what the fistula is connecting to...Errrrr....

Trek - very nice pictures. You look like your mom, especially around the eyes/nose/cheekbones. I love the pictures of your mom in the garden, and your dad eating!

Er, um, wha? I understand your frustration. Well on the first one, I guess you could always duct tape her to the fluoro table and stand it up. (put the tape on her, not the gown or whoops... there she goes!) To play it safe, you could put a bike helmet on her first in case she falls off her "ride". Better keep the crash cart handy... for both of you.

On the second, geez. What really gets me is, you can tell them it's a worthless test due to the circumstances, and they'll still want it. Get out the physics books and tutor them on atomic number properties in x-ray.
Anyway, have they US'd him at all to get a prelim idea where or how deep it goes? We sometimes do this under fluoro guidance to "map" what we can until they can get premedicated and do it up right. (gets the doc off our butts for a day or two) It's easier in an Angio suite setup.
Or if all else fails, pull on some gloves and just go spelunking in there, girl. ("Mmmm.... the cream filled kind!" - Timone from The Lion King) Oh! Ew!
Good luck! I wish I could find a way to cheer you up! hehe.
