uh ..... it's an attitude more than a typo
As to what the attitude is, that could be argued for hours.

Why do so many people type grrl instead of girl?I don't like feeling clueless.

I figured it was an attitude. I've noticed it a lot lately. Maybe it's because I'm back at work and my students can't spell!

It's attititude, fad, slang... all of the above.
"girl" is that little pink fluffy thing that doesn't sweat
"grrl" is the little pink fluffy thing that kicks a#$ and loves sweat.
my humble opinion
(had a GRRL's RULE bumper sticker on my zx6)
no regrets!

The one that I don't understand is the use of the term "prolly" in place of the word "probably." Is that slang? It can't be attitude. The reason it bothers me is that it is poor enunciation that has found its way to the written word.![]()

I should "prolly" ignore it... Nope. I can't!![]()

My big beef is thumb typing text speak:

This really scares me as a written mode.

When my 13 year old daughter IM's her friends, it all looks like that. It would take me 15 minutes to decipher 5 lines of the stuff. (Perhaps that's the whole point!) In any event, I'm with you. It's scary. But then again, I live near the land of Ebonics.![]()
Mines... Drives me nuts when 5th graders say, "That's mines." Mines are where you dig for gems and other cool stuff. Mine is something you own.My other pet peeve - hecka. It's too close to the original for me. These kids are 10! You shouldn't be cursing at 10. Funny though - darn doesn't bother me.

re: prolly - as a Huge online person - I play cards online a Lot, I used to type probably but it was taking longer N longer N longer and I would end up most times mispelling it. Prolly was much faster and - in my head - I Hear the word probably. The sad part of cyber speech is when you start Thinking things like LOL as you're talking face-to-face with people!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
I didn't realize that "prolly" was just a typing thing. My family has 3 English majors in it and we constantly goof around with words. We've said "prolly" as long as I can remember but only in casual situations. We also "irrigerate" the lawn and use "oderarm deunderant." We have a unique grasp of the English language. And, for the grammer queens out there, please notice that I said "unique" not "very unique" so you can't get me for that. That's my pet peeve!
what a very unique house you must have! Sorry....just could NOT resist!...I love playing with words - sounds like your house is a blast! Thanks for the "giggles"......
