I just ran that link by three experienced triathletes and they all said it was an exceptionally deal for an entry level tri bike, esp with 105 components. One said that at that price, there may be some upgrades to be had (better wheels, perhaps) but a steal nonetheless.

Congrats... I hope you get the bike!

(I was sorely tempted, but I have wetsuit purchases still to make, so will have to make do with aerobars on my road bike)

You're the devil!! I am soooooooooooooooo drooling right now. I've wanted a tri specific bike- and $500 bucks- MAN that's sweet....
    finding....it....hard.....to....not....get.....credit.....card....

man.....if I bought that bike I'd probably get a divorce. Better stick with ol' trusty Oscar. He's been a good steed (although he'd understand if I got an upgrade, huh?)

Yea, I thought on it all day.

Honestly... I was looking for a new road bike... but I want to upgrade to a really nice one in the $2,000 range, and I can't afford anything that nice right now.

And, I have toyed with the idea of a tri bike, but figured it was out of my reach as well. Then this deal popped up... couldn't pass it up!

    Shoot, a $500 with Shimano 105's... that's a deal.

Sure your hubby will divorce you? *Evil grin*

    watch out....

Once you get going on the tri geometry in races youll be HOOKED!
I toyed for a LOONNNNGGG time with going tri specific, and I'm so glad I finally did!
It may take a while to get used to, but when you do- watch out! She'll be your little rocket!
    Great deal too!

    That sounds great!

So, would you say the tri geometry will help my thighs not work so hard? Or what is it that makes it better? I heard it helps to save your legs for the run?

Yea, I have to admit... I am rather scared of the shifting mechanisms on the aero bars.... the brakes are so far away. Is it hard to steer? What about climing hills, is it harder with only aero bars?

Oh well, now that I have a tri bike... *OMG! I can't believe it! I hope the shop didn't over sell my size!*... other than my lack of running ability... I have no excuses for my Ironman by 2010!

    KSH,
Congrats on your new set of wheels. Pictures, we must have pictures.

Those bikes are so tempting. I'm afraid of sizing, I'm not a very big person. Buying sight-unseen... but like you said, you could always turn around and sell it... argh, you had to post the link!!

I'm curious about the answers to your tri-specific questions. I was thinking about going to a local tri/bike/nordic shop and sitting on one just to see what it's like. I really like the idea of being faster... who doesn't!

Ironman by 2010... you can do it

Happy to hear that others have said it was a good deal!

I have since found out that Cervelo doesn't make the One anymore... but it's still a good entry level tri bike... even if it's a 2004.
