... I overslept ... had to dress fast and bolt... 41 degrees and that "Oprah Winfrey Cooling Mist," and for riding kinda hard, it was deLISH. I was two hundred yards ahead of the bus... every time I passed a person waiting I could think "yea! gonna get two more blocks!" and then I could say howdy to the traffic cop at the school, and I made almost ALL the lights (they have countdown timers so I can tell how much time I have), so I was only one minute late.
(And I *did* forget my fanny pack at home yesterday, so I hadn't left it in the ladies' room at work, HOORAY!!!)
Steeling myself to view the video of my brief interview on the news Tuesday night - we had a presentation to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and any interested public (and there were at least 20 people there, which is a good turnout) that got news coverage due to the fatality last month.

6.5 miles of rooty singletrack after work....getting kinda dark at the end. The trails were still a bit wet after heavy rain two days ago, and at the very end of the ride my rear tire slipped out on a damp wooden bridge covered with damp leaves, and I now now have a new crop of abrasions on my right leg and will probably have some bruises tomorrow. Sigh...at least my head didn't hit this time so I don't have to get a new helmet. And the bike is fine. It's tougher than me!

8.5 miles of gorgeous bay area morning. I just couldn't stop riding where I was supposed to turn off and just kept going. Just wanted to enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe that's what made it "taste" so good Nothing but grins here!

Squeezed in a morning 12 mile ride, had a busy day ahead of other stuff to do.

Forgot to charge my light the night before, but luckily I didn't have to use it until the last mile of my commute home. I ran into a stranger on the trail who was very friendly, so I drafted him for about 3 miles (people like that make my day!). We were crusing along at a consistant 22/23 mph.... schweet! Wish I could push myself when I'm riding alone, but it's easier to chase someone and try to keep up.
