put some clear nail polish on the run, or something called "fray check" from the notions sections of a sewing store. That should keep it from unravelling any more. If you still have a longish hole after doing that, I'd just take a needle and thread and carefully pull it closed. But you still will want to "glue" the ends so it doesn't undo any more.
and then touch up the design with permanent marker.
