I have had to re-do my goal 2x already for the year. I have less than 300 miles to go to make 2000, but now i'm not sure i can make it.

So far this year I've climbed just under 230,000 feet. I think I might be able to make it to 300,000 feet.
So that's added to my lengthy To Do list.![]()

Nope, not doing the climbing competition. I prefer to compete with myself.
300 miles is only 100 miles a month. Make it a priority to get in a good 25 miles each weekend and you should be able to do it. Of course you may want to do more some weekends to have extra in case of crummy weather.

I hope I can. I had to work last sunday and will work THIS sunday too. and they want us to work longer days too. there are only so many hours in a day!!! eeek!
I've revised my mileage goal three times this year. It was my first year of riding, so I thought 1200 would be a good number. Now I'm aiming for 2250. I don't have a method to measure climbing distance, but once I do, I'll aim for a big number too! Like 5.![]()
I hope to do three more 100k rides this year. My big goal is to attempt the Triple Bypass in Colorado next July.
My goal was to do 5 full Centuries and 5 Metric Centuries (only counting organized charity rides for this total) and 3000 miles.
I met the century goals. I had to do full centuries three weekends in a row to get them all in. Next year I won't wait so long.
I'm still about 350 miles short of the 3000 miles. Now that there's not much daylight left after work, I'll have to get going on the weekends to meet that goal.
Wow. Tough question.
I hit all my goals so far....broke the 2000 mile barrier, commuted more days this year than last, and completed a century with DH. I'm not sure what's left. I suppose I could try to put 2000 as far behind me as possible. Perhaps 2500, but I don't think I'll hit 3K this year. Maybe next year. Is it too early to start on the New Year's Resolutions??
(Oh, and I just checked my training center....45,000 feet of climbing since July. I guess MD is much flatter than CA!)
I'm on track to reach 6000 km in the coming months. I'm almost at 5500 now and just plan on riding easy on the weekends. Last year I rode too hard for my taste in the winter and ended up a bit depressed about riding in February. I am hoping to start fresh this spring, so I'll ride only recreationally through the winter. I want to ride my bike to enjoy the scenery and open air, not to train.
I'm using the spare time to run a lot and swim a little bit. I'm trying to spend more time stretching, and do more strength training starting November...
Overall it was a great year on the bike, especially the summer.
Since this year I got back on the bike after a long layoff due to injuries, I started with a conservative goal of 1000 miles for the year. Passed that goal a while back, now at approx. 1300, and beginning to think that 2000 miles might be do-able. I've been averaging 50 miles a week, and figured out I'd only have to increase by about 7-8 miles a week to make a solid 2000 by New Year's Eve.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.......

Well, I injured my knee in the summer, so I´ve had to revise my goal downwardsI was going to ride a century this summer, so my goal is to do one next spring.
I´m intending to enjoy commuting to work until the snow starts and get fit for the Vasaloppet in March (90km cross-country ski race).
I´m so impressed by what everyone here has done this year.

I've had to revise my mileage goal down as I realized I wasn't going to make my original goal of 7500 miles (last year I did 7400 and was hoping I could do 7500 this year. But, a wet winter cut into my long rides and I couldn't make it up in the summer months).
If I get can in 1000 miles by December 31st I'll have 6400 miles in this year. The weather plays a big factor in my riding at this point, so we'll see.

Oh, and this school term (ending in December) I want to commute at least every Tu-Th, if not more days per week. Rain or Shine.
I already have 2,250 on my bike and I really hope to get 3,000 in before the end of the year. The only problem is to be pregnant and try to achieve this goal. But I think that if I don't grow very fast I could get there.
Considering that my riding year was cut cleanly in half, ending at the end of June, I have obviously had to reassess my goals!![]()
In the 6 months I was able to ride this year, I did 3 doubles and a 600k, close to 3000 miles total, so I am not too disappointed, all things considered.
My goal for the rest of the year is to try to be patient and heal so that I arrive in good health when I can ride in January. I'm also doing this silly marathon - but mostly fast walking, as I do notice some continuing ill effects when I push intensity level too high.
the hard thing for me will be patience at the beginning of next year, not pushing too much too fast. Patience is not one of my strong suits, so I will need to work on that!
V you can hit 300 k climbing no problem!
