Got in a brief 30 mile after doing crew for the furnace Creek 508. Felt real good. road thorough Claremont Colleges and The University of La Verne. Cam back up a 500 feet gradual climb. Normally, I do about 11 on it, but I was doing mid 13's yippee!

I got in my first longish ride since spraining my thumb in early August, followed by a kidney stone in September. 73 miles of gorgeous New England Fall color on a day that warmed to about 80F. It kind of made up for missing so much of the fall riding.
Got in a wonderful 12 miles on the Pioneer Trail. The first six miles were a gradual uphill and then wooohoooo 6 miles down. I LOVE DOWNHILL.
I took my new camera but I got so involved in the ride I forgot to take some snaps - maybe next ride.![]()
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

Had a tough (for me) 24 mile ride today. New route, lots of hills and then headwind and hills last 7 or 8 miles. All in all, a nice workout. Trying to decide how many miles to attempt in an event (Tour de Goliad) this coming weekend. Tempted to try 50 miles (highest to date is 36.5) but may stick to the 35 as it is constant hills around Goliad, Texas.
Hubby back in town tonite, nice dinner at our favorite taco place and looking forward to a good night's sleep.
