I love your most fun on the bike. DH and I ride together all the time, it is some of the best time we spend together. Many women wish their SO would ride with them, we are lucky!

Awww... We're are glad to have you. Welcome to the board!

    Welcome Miranda, Tali and Thorn!!

Tali- Now I feel awful for paging my doctor. Actually the only time was when my DH was terribly ill. The first time he ended up at the ER, the second time was a few days later and he ended up at the hospital the next morning. I bother my insurance's on-call nurse for silly stuff like "How long can I wait to get a tetnus shot for this cut I got on some rusty building materials?"

Thorn- Mallorca is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing those pictures. Mallorca makes my list of "Must See" travels.

    Real name: Sue

Where do you live? Alpharetta, GA

Explanation of your handle: Shubie is my nickname (say Sue Shaw 5 x's fast after a cocktail or two), and GA is my current state.

Explanation of your avatar: still looking for the right one.

Age (general or specific): Getting closer to 50 (ok, hanging on to 48 by a thread)

    Occupation: Tech support manager

Favorite bike: my new one - Trek 7.2FX (red)

What's in your stable? Trek 7.2FX and a Schwinn mountain bike.

Fastest speed on a road bike? 20, on the hybrid - let go of the brake, Shubie!

Another picture of yourself or your ride? I usually take the pics, not get in them.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I am not admitting that on-line!

Most memorable moment on my bike: Other than riding my 1st bike around the basement poles, it was finally getting up a hill by the house without walking.

Most fun ever had on a bike? So far, finishing the Bike Atlanta ride (13.3 mi, but some nice hills). More to come!
It's all about the journey (my reason for riding slower)

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Ha

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Hmmmm....

Most memorable moment on my bike: Skidding around a corner into gravel, where I totally wiped out....and this is on the Expedition that had mtn bike tires on it!!

Most fun ever had on a bike? I always have fun, this is something DH and I like to do together, started with biking in the back woods, and now on the road!! New road bikes for each of us on our 25th anniversary!!

Explanation of your handle: I've been writing for as long as I can remember and when I was younger, I rode my bike everywhere. But sometimes you give up things because you think you’ve outgrown them…only to realize you never outgrow things that add value to your life. Now I’m looking to do both cycling and writing on my own terms. I’m excited to have found a forum of women who feel like I do!

Explanation of your avatar: A [paraphrased] Buddhist teaching says if you look at a flower, you never see it striving to be what it should become. It just is, and it grows and blossoms as it should. A flower reminds me to relax into the peace and balance of each moment.

Age (general or specific): 29 in November!

    Occupation: Copywriter

Favorite bike: I'm fascinated by Terry bikes, specifically Madeleine, the touring model. If you've got one, I'd love to hear about it.

What's in your stable? 94 Giant Hybrid - Hey, what can I say? It gets me where I want to go.

Fastest speed on a road bike: 27 mph--thanks to a steep grade and gravity.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? I’ll be hard-pressed to drum one picture up, but I’ll see what I can do.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Hmmm…the last time I called in sick on a beautiful day?

Most memorable moment on my bike: I learned to ride on two wheels on a gravel road. The first time without training wheels, I flew down a hill of gravel, tried to turn and wiped out. I've been hooked ever since.

Most fun ever had on a bike: Honestly? Every time I ride.
