Yeah! That was last nights big news flash! Boy oh boy did the cops ever look smug on the screen. Or rather, one guy looked overbearingly smug and the other guy had a big grin on his face and looked like he could barely keep himself from punching his fist in the air. We still haven't heard any official details, but the newspapers this morning are speculating that the cops have been squeezing a suspect who is also coming up for his appeal trial on a BIIIIG bank robbery where a cop got shot and killed. According to this morning's papers, the cops offered a plea bargain package where he'd get a softer jail term if he turned in the paintings ... and maybe also the co-robber who shot the cop?
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
