Noseless Saddles?

Does anyone have any experience with a noseless saddle? I've seen "The Seat" and some other sort of saddle that looks like two wedges to sit on and you can adjust the distance between the wedges. Since most of my saddle pain seems to come from what my two-year-old calls her "winkie", I'm wondering if this might be the ticket for me. However, I'm wondering if I'm going to go sliding off the saddle on some steep descent. Any input would be appreciated.

Are you riding on-road or off?

I don't see *how* one of those could work off-road. You need the nose of the saddle for steep climbs and they look too wide in the rear to get off the back for descents.

I suppose they'd work for cruiser/hybrid bike-path type riding.

I used one of those saddles for a year on my hybrid, which was my only bike until last October. Mine is a SpongyWonder. I found it a little weird at first, felt a little tipped forward, but then liked it quite a bit. I rode with it all last year, and occasionally this year. It's perfect for the more upright position on a hybrid. I never tried it on my road bike. The funny thing, though, is that about three weeks ago I rode that bike for the first time in a month, and the seat bothered my sit bones. Maybe I'm just so used to my road bike that it felt weird. Anyway, I put the original saddle back on, a selle royal big jel thing, and it felt fine.
I'm still not thrilled with my road saddle (terry butterfly), and am just about ready to try S-dog's suggestion of a Koobi.

I used to be in your area. Now I'm from Joisey. But I'll be near your area (Portsmouth) sometime in Sept/Oct.
I'm just being cheap and lazy about the saddle - hoping to catch one on ebay before I plunge. I'm giving it two more weeks

I'm strictly a roadie, so far. I'm riding a Speciailized Roubaix Elite and I have it set up so I'm pretty upright. That may change over time if I decide to do tris and need to really race, but for now it's good.

I have a Terry Butterfly Gellisimo right now, and it's okay. I'm thinking about trying some different shorts. Right now I have some PI ones that are really thick. I tried my friend's tri shorts, but they weren't enough to keep my bottom from really hurting, so I think maybe I need something in between. Has anyone tried those really expensive Castelli jobs... the YPRO3 or whatever?
