Talking What have you gals done to me??

(turned me into a Bianchi chick, that's what!)

Ok so I have got the COOLEST hubby EVER! And if I spend the rest of my life picking up his sweaty bike shorts so my boxer won't eat them, I will do it with a smile on my face and love in my heart!!!

He has been in the market for a new bike. I am perfectly happy with my Giant OCR Limited.

    Well.... WAS perfectly happy.

My hubby went on a group ride today. Called me after he was done to tell me he had gotten me a present.

HE BOUGHT ME A BIANCHI!!! And oh boy is she a BEAUT!!!! Somehow my hubby knew without me saying a word that she was my dream bike.

I cannot pick her up til Tuesday, but here is a pic from Bianchi's webiste. She's a 928 Carbon Celeste. In person she is sooo much better looking than this. She has different wheels, but she is not completely put together as of yet. I will post actual pictures once she comes home.

    Any suggestions on a name????

We have the coolest hubbies in the world. Mine just bought a 928 for me last week. Mine is nude carbon and white with some celeste accents. She rides like a dream...at least she did after I put my old saddle on her!

    Happy riding!!

The picture said "Skye" to me, but wait 'til you see/touch/ride her, and she'll tell you herself.

Oh that is so cool! Good for you both--Cyclchik and Steph! We want pictures of your bikes asap!

That bike photo whispered to me: Azure. But Skye is cool, also. And the bike herself may whisper something different to you. Wishing you both many happy miles together with your bikes.

I think a name will come to you when you ride her. My other half can't understand the need to name things like bikes, cars, computers, ipods...*ahem*

but i think it's important to name something you're going to spend so much time, passion and money on. My lovely lovely bike is improbably called Melquiedes The Conquistador, but i'd imagine a sleek beauty like yours might want a less stupid name!

Gnar - you named your ipod?? As far as the name for your bike, I love it! Thats what I call character!!!

I totally agree that I need to have my hands on her before the name will come to me. I must say tho, that the "SKY" name has stayed with me so I've done some digging.

(Sidebar: did I mention I have the coolest hubby EVER????)

In Italian, sky and heaven both translate to "Cielo" (I like to pronounce this cee-aa-lo). Well my baby is definately my slice of heaven, and I love the open sky, SO.... her name will have Cielo in it. I'm gonna wait till I ride her for the rest to come to me.

YEA STEPH! When are we gonna see some pictures???

yeah i named my ipod...my computer is called Havelock which is the city leader from the Terry Pratchett Discworld series and my phone is called wuffles which is the name of his dog and my ipod is called Imp y Celyn, which is the name of a character from the books who becomes possessed by the very spirit of music.

I name most things i own to be honest, just trying to think on a name for our new second hand car too...any ideas?

You're not alone, Gnarwhal--I named my iPod too. My iPod is named Yes-I-said-Yes-I-will-Yes, which is the last sentence of James Joyce's novel Ulysses, one of the defining literary texts of the 20th century. You just keep right on naming things in any way that makes sense to you. I with you, sister!
