When I really *was* a bartender in my other life (back in 1980, apparently before you were born..) - B52's were the big thing. I made dozens of trays of them every night... Then we invented a B52 "float" (pour the b52 ingredients over the rocks and add coke. Weird but tasty...

OK, so the drink of this weekend was the B-52.
Grand Marnier, Irish Cream and Kaluah. All must be chilled; GM and K in the freezer, IC in the fridge b/c putting it in the freezer does weird things to it.

In a liqueur glass (or really big shot glass) layer as such, pouring each over the back of a chilled spoon, rinsing the spoon off between ingredients:

    1 1/2 oz Kaluah
    1 1/2 oz Irish Cream
    1 1/2 oz Grand Marnier

Pour veeerrrry slowly over the back of the spoon to layer. It takes some practice.

If you don't feel like all that work, then throw the above into a shaker with ice and shake the h*ll out of it, then serve.

Taste is that of an orange creamsicle dipped in chocolate, or one of those chocolate oranges you have to hit on something to break apart. Too good. =D

It is nice to know I can have a pity party here with all of you should I need another one. You gals are awesome!

Okay, I do not know who my SS was, but she rocks! I have been overdosing on SB. Did you know the SB hot cocoa mix can be melted and used for dipping fruit and pretzels in? I highly recommend it.

Kitsune-I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a wonderful job offer.

Pity I am not allowed to drink. I recall B-52s. Kelownagirl-I was around in the 80s, a snotty private school girl, who um may have once or twice dabbled with B-52s.

Any ideas for a cool hat I can wear to hospital that will double as a cycling hat to keep me warm over the winter months under my helmet?

    Jumping into TD right now.....

Don't know nothin' 'bout a drinkie named B52 but it sounds tasty........ How about an Irish Car Bomb? Also tasty! 1/2 pint Guiness with a 1/2 oz of Baileys, 1/2 oz of Jamison's Irish Whiskey dropped - boom- into the glass. Drink quickly!! Mmmmmmmmmmm! Or you'll end up with a cement mixer.

BMo3 - Migraines - BAD, AWFUL! I can relate, tho' I have not suffered to the degree that you have. Treatments are out there. Hope you can find one to help.

Chocolate, in any form. Not my chosen vice. Hope you all enjoy the chocolate of your craving. Give me caffeine. Give me wine. Give me spices. Give me time to ride my bike!! You may have your chocolate. Think of it this way........ more for you!

Thanks for the links KN! I have never ordered anything from Ibex. Is their shipping fast? I have seen several people mention Ibex before so I guess I shall just go ahead and order one. Decisions, decisions.

I think their shipping is fast. Maybe 3 or 4 days from Vermont to Seattle? Often it seems to arrive sooner than I expected. When you call, you can ask. They are also very cool about returns. I really like Ibex. I have no complaints about anything I've ordered. It all survives the washing machine (cold water) better than my Icebreaker or Duofold.

What color hat are you gonna get? I haven't decided yet.

I kinda like the currant "Skimmer" and the black "Meru".

I like all the colours. Tonic is really nice, although black is most practical, since it will show the sweat less. If I was wealthy I would buy one of each. So tonic or black? Fushia is nice a cheery. I do not know. I will mosty likely dream of the hats tonight.

Huh. I've heard of the drink, but never with the Irish Whiskey in it.

The best thing I can ever reccommend is the fairly-rare Damiana liqueur. The scent is floral, almost like a perfume. Taste is light, delicate, but rich. Very hard to describe. #1 suggestion is chilled, half/half with Jaeger. #2 is mixed with 7-up, but neat on the rocks is good, too. mmm.

I like my whiskeys and liqueurs and such straight. No ice. No water.

there are a couple mixed drinks I like: gin and tonics, Margaritas

Red wines are good, generally. And champagne is ok.

    but I really like BEER!

(Jaegermeister just isn't the same since they took the opiates out. Probably just after you were born, Kits. Mid-to-late 1980's.)

Thanks Annie. I have had migraines for 23 years, numerous neurologists and even more treatments. There is not much left, but to try to prevent another stroke. Right now I am on a treatment that I was on about a decade ago, we are just recycling them. Hopefully the tests will result in another answer. I should hold out hope, not give in. I am just tired of all the different meds.
