    Ernesto Colnago - This Saturday

Drat drat drat - I have a photo shoot scheduled for that day and can't get out of it. Can you imagine getting fit by Colnago himself?

    Hi Girls,

I was told about Ernesto's visit a few weeks ago, but I didn't post because I didn't want to sound like I was "promoting" a specific LBS. (I don't really know anything about the LaGrange Bike Club.) But, now that it's been posted, from what I have been told, Ernesto will be doing bike fits for Colnago owners, and signing bike fit cards at Helen's Cycles in Santa Monica. Apparantly, that is the only store he will visit during his tour. According to Helen's, they are the largest Colnago dealer in the USA. They are letting all their Colnago customers know. They said to get there early, as they anticipate long lines. Beware, parking is also a problem at that shop and the surrounding streets. You may have to park at the shopping center on Santa Monica Blvd., and walk, or ride (it's only a block). I can't imagine that one person can do proper bike fits for the number of people who they anticipate will show up. But, it might be fun to get an authgraph. I may, or may not go, depending on whether I want to go riding instead. My riding time is very limited and I have to take advantage of every minute. But, if I know that any of you TE girls can make it, let me know and I will try to meet you there.

call me naive, but are there THAT many Colnago owners that need their bikes fit in that area?

seems like for most Colnago owners, it will be a social thing!

You're probably right!! Although, it's amazing the kinds of bikes I see around here. Anyway, I'm going by what the bike shop told me. Actually, the parking situation is an every-day thing and that shop is always busy. Like I said, I'll probably go riding instead!!

I would love to meet Ernesto but apparently I have a prior engagement with some big hills and a speedy Rivendell.

Maybe next time Im in Italy I will look him up.
