    My New Bike!!!

Yippee! I now have a road bike! After months of riding my Trek MTB on the roads, I have made the leap.
Now my MTB can do what it does best - ride on trails.

I am very excited. I now have a Cannondale R1000 Feminine - it has the dragonfly paint job.

We went for our first ride together on Monday (my birthday) - I have some things to learn!

Compared to my MTB, it is VERY responsive... and very fast!

    I love it!

I hope it is as nice to ride as it is to look at. Glad to know that Cannondale is also making WSD bikes!

GORGEOUS bike! Did you have to special order or did they have it in stock?

It was in stock... the end of the 2006 models, so I got it on sale.

I took everyone's advice here, and had a fit done before shopping around. A friend of DH is the manager at the LBS, and did a full Serotta fit for me... since I ended up buying from his shop, he didn't charge me for it!

I tried a number of different bikes at a couple of shops, but this one just felt right! Okay, so I have only ridden 27 miles so far... but so far so good!

    Thanks, everybody!

fatbottomedgurl: "And now you can keep the tire pressure on your mtb low." Ha! This made me laugh - I took my MTB for a ride in the State Park a few weekends ago, and forgot to check the tire pressure before using it for my commute to work on the following Monday. Something just wasn't quite right... It proved to be a good reminder to check my pressure - I haven't forgotten since!

And, thanks for the birthday wishes too! I'm still a spring chicken, despite my birthday - I've just turned 31. I hope to have many many many years of riding left for me!
