“Hey, clearly failure doesn’t deter me!”
Sandy, that is fantastic! I'm so excited for you. You will find that you love both types of riding for different reasons. BTW, I didn't see the link you were referring too.![]()

Sandy
Sandy I have owned my Specialized Hardrock over 12 years ago when I was in college (pre front shox days). The thing is indestructable. I am even still on the original tires, impressive if you know that they've not be stored in nice ways all the time. The only maintenance I had to do was replace a rusty chain/tune up when I decided I should start using it again a few years ago. I don't take it out as much as I should, and I can swear I hear it muttering "taking the dainty new one out again huh, well I am TOUGH what about that?" when I pass it in favor of the road bike.
I do have a fondness for it being so reliable....
Enjoy your new bikes - just get out and ride them, they get lonely. Trust me (see the muttering part).

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
