fantastic!! Well done Ironman Tri-girl!^_^
woot! :P
WOW! Fabulous race report! Thanks so much for ALL the details!
Numb hands? How annoying! You did a great job considering you couldn't feel your hands.
Headwind on the bike... OH! I hear ya! It breaks down your body... and eventually seeps into your mind and starts working on that as well. I don't know how you stood that headwind for SO LONG! 20 miles is my max! HA!
Sounds like your run was great! Really solid.
Congrats on your race... YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
3 years? Doing it again... eh? Well, I want to do an Ironman by 2010 if I can get my running up to par by then!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
CONGRATS!!!! I was thinking of you this past weekend. I just got back from a loonng (too long) weekend of drunken dabauchery (sp?) in Vegas, so I wasn't able to check in. But I hope you felt my vibes out there. They may have been drunken vibes- but they were vibes nonetheless!!![]()
It really IS an awesome feeling huh?? I just remembering wanting to do it again so I could feel that rush of crossing the line!!
But take my post race advice.... TAKE IT SLOW!!! Do NOT rush back into training!!! Let your body tell you what it wants to do- and for how long!!! I was mortified when I couldn't run a mere 5 miles after IMAZ, but my body just wasn't recovered. You don't want to make yourself sick, so do nothing but REST, REST, REST!!!
Congrats again, and glad I was an inspiration to you. It makes me laguh sometimes to think that *I* could inspire anyone!! ha ha ha![]()
Way to go Tri Gril
Glad it was such an amazing experience for you
A well written report, very readable, thank you for sharing
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
Congratulations - what an accomplishment.
Rest up you deserve it.![]()

How freaking awesome! You may not have cried, but I'm sitting here reading your report with tears... and laughter (the wet suit strippers, never heard of them, but the visual is hilarious!) I would have loved to hear you singing on your bike...You're experience sounds like others I have heard, so glad to get out of the water and bike..so glad to get off the bike and run...so glad to stop running.
I am in awe. You're totally brilliant!
Congratulations!
