    Ach dinna worry aboot it. Strangely my home town is Falkirk and the inhabitants are known as 'Bairns', so ye've got a heid start.

    You'll all be glad to know it's 9pm here so talking Scottish day will soon be over. But don't worry - I've made a note of who has and hasn't taken part.

    Ooo! Time for "Midsummer Murders" on TV. Time to go for the usual Sunday evening of tea, good British drama and possibly some ice cream.

    highland games could be fun, but I WILL NOT eat Haggis.

    BMof3, welcome to thread drift. i have just returned from a few weeks and 50 pages absence. Cathing up is hard. I keep wanting to reply to something, only to realize that the question was asked a coulple of weeks ago and is probably no longer relevant - although relevant and TD really have little to do with each other. I was your Aug SS, I know I got your coffee sent really late and I am sorry.

    Oh, dear. And I was the one to clue you in. I feel just terrible. Don't give up Trek! The right non-boor, non-lout woman is out there for you!
    Och, a right (insert Scottish perjorative term) ah be!

    Is talking like a Scottish bairn day over now? (And I thought "bairn" meant child) Has the sun set on my ancestral homeland? Anyway, I'm not really channeling my ancestors, but the esteemed "Scotty" of StarTrek fame.

    Brina, welcome home! Are you kidding me? 50 pages of TD? My, how we do go on.

    I thought Haggis was mostly oats, with meat stuff etc... and the 'casing' isn't any groser than what brats etc are cased in... Wi' neeps an' tatties!

    The Haggis Song:
    The haggis season has begun
    All over Scotland every gun
    Is taken down with loving care
    Though some prefer the haggis snare
    For haggis are a wily lot
    That's why they are so seldom shot
    "We're the haggis, aye, hooray;
    We'll live until next Hogmanay"

    Its flying upside down and low
    The guns all fire, but they're too slow
    And though it's rather old and fat
    It's awfully hard to hit like that
    And as it flies off in the mist
    Great hairy clansmen shake their fists
    And scream their curses to the crags
    And stamp on empty haggis bags
    And so the haggis gets away
    To live until next Hogmanay

    "We're the haggis, aye, hooray;
    We'll live until next Hogmanay"

    Bairn does mean child Lise. No-one really knows why Falkirk folk are called bairns. People from Paisley are called 'buddies'.

    Liked the haggis poem kit.
