    Welcome to the board:

Stephanie: I'm so sorry somehow I missed your getting to know you post - don't know how coz I LOVE your avatar! There are days I really do ride like that just coz riding feels soo good!!

Katie: my first road bike on this my latest adventure in cycling was a 1987 Peugeot Avaroiz. He's really just a tad too tall for me......51 cm and the perfect fit for me is a 47 but I sure do love that bad boy. Most of the components are still original to the bike and he'll stay in my stable for years to come!

NJGirl: but of Course you should yearn for that $10,000 Cervalo! Every once in awhile I go to trekbikes.com and build my custom bike - just for grins and giggles. So far the cheapest I've been able to build was somewhere around $7500. lol Never hurts to dream eh?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

    Cool Newbie

    Real name: Cindy

Where do you live? Brandon, MS

Explanation of your handle: Self explanatory……I think

Explanation of your avatar: Sorry don’t have one.

    Age (general or specific) 45

    Occupation: Medical Lab Tech.

Favorite bike: The one I can afford.

What's in your stable? Diamondback (oldie but goodie)

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? When? 30 mph, on local bike/ walk trail. Sept. 06

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Don’t have one (yet)

What is the biggest lie you've ever told : There’s not enough room here, but it starts with no honey really………

Most memorable moment on my bike: When I was showing off without a helmet. I tipped over and hit my head on the curb (ouch). I was so stunned I couldn’t move for about 5 minutes. Never have made that mistake again.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Every day I have time to ride it’s great.

    Real name: Carolyn

    Where do you live? Chicago

Explanation of your handle: It is a nickname from college.

Explanation of your avatar: That's Murphy, one of two fur-kids.

    Age (general or specific): 31

    Occupation: College Adminstrator

Favorite bike: my new TCR C3 (I bought it a month ago and already have 350 miles on it!)

What's in your stable? TCR C3 and Specialized Allez

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? I'm not very fast. I think I hit 21 on a downhill, but don't have many hills around here.

Most memorable moment on my bike: When I was younger, I would always fall going around a particular turn (not sure why), and have scars on both knees from the road rash I used to get.

Most fun ever had on a bike? I enjoy riding with Mr. Sheesh. We ride almost every weekend along the lake path and the view is beautiful! I especially love the sunrise.

Tell me about it, sister! The fastest I've ever gone was at the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon last month, when I was going down an overpass, with a tailwind, and my arms in the aerobars. 30 mph! Whoo-hoo!

Welcome, Carolyn! There's the makings of a TE/Chicago posse here!

Thanks, Lise! The only hill I ever tackle is on the south end of the Lake Path. I make it a point to hit it both ways, though, rather than going around because I know it's my only real chance to do it.

You have true mental toughness. I ride that "hill" when I'm training in my own mind, but not when I'm just "out for a ride"!
