TE Seattle ride was great! Oh, so great. 52 miles and two meals (with alcohol of course!) on the ride.
I'm so tired I can hardly type.
I wanna do it again tomorrow...![]()

Some joke I read implied that the heat of h*ll was caused by the friction of the outer bounds expanding to allow space for the sheer number of souls going there every day. (allowing for all the various things that lead one to go there)
*shrugs* I'll bring the hard cider and porter. For all we know, anything stronger would ignite.![]()
On a merrier subject:
The weather today was pretty nice. Rainy here and there, but relatively warm. I managed to see it rain during a bright, sunny spell, blue, clear sky and everything. An old tale says it's a sign foxes are getting married![]()

It doesn't sound like my century will be as fun as your TE Seattle ride....
Lise - probably a good thing you decided not to do this one.
Forecast today is for strong storms to develop in the afternoon. That's not what's as depressing as the 15-25 mph winds out of the south for today. The route goes north into WI then back down. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.Gears will certainly be used today!
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

But adiabatic expansion always leads to cooling. Is hell adiabatic? Does it have an atmosphere? Does it obey the hydrostatic equation and typical mass conservation laws? A new forefront for scientific investigation.Originally Posted by Kitsune06

Yep, it doesn't look like a great biking day today. I know I made the right choice when I realized I just didn't have the training to do it enjoyably. I could ride 100 miles, but it wouldn't be as fun as it should.Originally Posted by betagirl
I was at the UIC Pavillion last night, for the big anniversary celebration of that little 12 step group I'm part of. I have a service committment, and mainly stood, (sometimes walked) in heels, on a cement floor, for 5 hours. They were the lowest heels I own, but still. My legs and feet hurt. I must've kicked myself, too, because at one point I looked down and had blood on my ankle! I don't hurt myself this much riding a bike!![]()
Have a great century, beta. Looking forward to the report. L.

Like the old geometry stuff we used to do with soda straws and lumps of putty. Very cool and it's keeping him entertained for hours.

Gee, you rode 52 miles, KY! after my 30 and after some nice man stopped and jumpstarted my car (the battery just didn't last 5 hours of sitting with the headlights on) i went home and... finished a book.
but first i went to Elliott Bay Bicycle to give them
the matching purple and black handlebar tape for our tandem. DH will have new handlebars with bar end shifters now. I took a look, they're pretty cool. (my handlebars already have the purple and black...)

MimiT - Yup, we were like the Energizer Bunny out there.
I wanna do it again!
Glad you got your car jumpstarted. Next time we should go with you to your car to make sure you didn't leave your lights on again!
After I got home I realized that not only had I done my longest ride yet on the commutermobile, it may also have been my last long ride on it for a while. When I get Flosshilde back from RC the commutermobile will go to SKnot until he outgrows it.
Wonder how much faster I'll go on a road bike? (I'm sure the lavender tape will add a mile or two per hour!)

OK, it's on my desk, to the left of my Mac, here, I'll put it in my bag so I won't forget it .... there ... in the bag. Happy now?
There's a shipping envelope on my desk at work (for the stamps that get donated to Easter Seals, long story) and a post office in the Kaiser Bldg.
On my lunch break the tape will be in the mail.
It won't make you faster, just cooler looking if at all possible.

Well, from a book by Tom Holt called Expecting Someone Taller. It's kind of a spoof of the Ring Saga. There's a ditzy smartass (but sweet) character, Flosshilde the Rhine Maiden. My favorite.Originally Posted by Trek420

Yup, Bugs Bunny. Singing. As in "oh Brunhilde, you're so lovely" (Elmer Fudd as Siegfried) "Yes I know it, I can't help it." (Bugs as Brunhilde)
Just switch the valkyrie Brunhilde for Flosshilde and you've got the soundtrack. And yes, I did sing it to her as I was getting her out of the box.
I'm a dork. But a sweet ditzy smart@ss dork.
