    Thanks, all, for the replies. I won't baby the light so much now. Yesterday, I used my second-best light in the rain and visibility wasn't that great.

    Is there not something fundamentally wrong with a bike light that doesn't work in the rain?

    In the UK we would have legal consumer protection that would cover this - ie the article isn't fit for the purpose it was sold for. But then it rains a lot here
