    US Pro Cycling Championships

I spent the weekend in Greenville, SC watching the Pro Cycling championships. My husband and I went up to watch the cyclists make the big climb of the race. Since it was a 21 mile loop, we got to see them come through 5 times. George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer, and Dave Zabriske were among the 100 or so riders.
On the first loop, everybody was together. After that riders were dropping like flies. There was a lot of waiting around for a few minutes of watching riders come by. That meant there was lots of time to enjoy a few cold beverages on the warm afternoon! The riders were moving pretty fast, but by the last couple of loops, most of the riders were struggling. And a few of them could hardly get up the 5k climb. George Hincapie eventually won the race with the help of Levi and they totally busted the entire peloton.
All in all, it was a good day, but I would rather be riding than watching!

That had to be soooo cool. I've seen one criterium race, and it was more exciting than I expected. To have the race include some of the big name US pros would be just amazing. If I were you, I would have been giddy as a little kid each time DZ, Levi and George came around the loop!
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
