Great read right before my 100 miler on Saturday!

I'm all about LOADING UP ON THE CARBS! HA!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"

I bonked on the FIRST half of a 35 mile ride on Sunday. (Leave it to me to do things backwards.) I had a 3 hour meeting before we went out, THOUGHT I had had enough to eat, but it became clear I had not. My riding got worse and worse, I felt awful, I was near tears, I was near divorce, it is amazing how the mind will not recognize that the problem is food! (Probably because the judgement is impaired.) We got to a place I could eat, and one hamburger & milkshake later, and a few minutes lay-down in the shade, I was an entirely different rider. It was almost spooky.

I know! This is the best news ever...any excuse to keep eating those carbs. Well, who really needs an excuse, I can eat whatever I want!
