Add me to the club. We officially go back next Tuesday, which is about a week earlier than usual. I've already been in quite a bit, my room is ready and my plans are done, so i can enjoy my last few days of riding. I still have a few minor things to do, but they are waiting until tomorrow. Actually the kids are only there 2 days next week; we have Friday and Labor Day off. I find this transition more difficult every year. It was easier when my kids were little since we were all getting ready to go back to school. This is going to be my last year (# 30) and that is helping me deal with the reduction of riding time. I love the district I work in, but the intensity of teaching writing and reading to middle schoolers is starting to wear me down. I am trying to broach the idea of working on a consultant basis for the system next year, doing some professional development with teachers, so I can travel when I want to. We only get one week off in December, a week in February, and a week in mid April.
Have a good year everyone.
