The first time we had Thom driving SAG and honking at inappropriate times. The other times it was cool enough we were OK.
I'll probably put a small one in the car - I hate camelbacks on my road bike. I also have a small Platypus bladder that will fit in a jersey pocket. Pollock Pines says a high of 88 and we'll be going up to 8,000' I think. I'll have to re-check the stats.
It's really about 22 miles up if you go only to Highway 88 (3 hours or so) and then the downhill is one really, really fast wide open descent. You only stop if your hands and back start to scream.
