    2nd photo

Looks strange because it was taken by the "official" photographer at the race, then scanned in to my computer and then resized several times to upload, so it is grainy by now!!!!!

Or maybe it looks strange because of the subject?????

Speaking of meeting in the middle/Idaho....

I was working at the Western Idaho Fair today, when a nice looking young man wearing a RAGBRAI shirt walked by. I said, hey! That's a famous bike ride across Iowa. And he said yes, been going on for 27 years (I think his said XXV on it, so it's been a couple of years for him). He also said that he's ridden from somewhere in Alaska to Boise, on his mountain bike -- 3500 miles. I was impressed! 3500 miles for one trip sounds a bit loony, but still, impressive!

    Hi Girls,
its strange because of the file format (.gif) ... a .gif file is a suitable file format for the web for illustrations and images that contain flat areas of colour and also for animations. The other web file format is .jpg which is the way to go for continuous tone images or photos. .GIF is indexed colour, when you resize an indexed colour image it degrades in quality. If you need to resize a indexed colour image, convert it to RGB colour mode first, then back to index when finished. But for photos, definitely stick to .jpg

    the weird photo

    Mags
I sorta have some idea what that means. I do not know how to do that conversion, but that is for another thread LOL. I wonder if the photographer uses that format on purpose. They probably do not want us to scan the pictures after we purchase them, because then you could reprint. They charge an arm and a leg for the pictures.

Since we are on the picture topic. How do you get it show up in the body of the response and not as an attachment?

LOL - I love hearing Aussies on here. I said pushies to someone here in the States the other day and they just look at me and said what are you talking about. Same for Sunnies.....no idea. So I like to say I was wearing my Sunnies on my Pushie just to confuse them.
