Vine Ride Report!

Hi Oxysback!

There was a whole TE contingent out on the Vine Ride on Saturday. Molly & her husband, Renata & her partner, and Jeff & I. It was a beautiful day for a ride, wasn't it?? The temperatures were so pleasant in the morning. You were smart to start early, though. By 3pm it got VERY hot out there on the fresh blacktop on Westside Road.

We had some, um, major mechanical issues (you can read about it in the "August 19 Rides" thread), so we had much the same finish line experience as you did but for the opposite reason. By the time we crossed the finish line, almost everyone had packed up and gone home! (You know you're way behind when the official at the finish line radios someone else and says "Ok, the yellow tandem is here...".)

However, they still had plenty of food AND ice cream left (yummy over those excellent chocolate brownies) so we made the most of it.

Congratulations on your ride. You did great! Those rollers on North Valley look enormous when you're tired on the way back in, eh?
