Swim : 50:59. Exactly 10 min slower than my last Int’l dist. That’s what it felt like. I got out of the water saying, "I just added ten minutes to my total".

T1: 2:57

Bike: 1:31:32. Twelve minutes faster than last year

T2: 2:16

Run: 1:18. Six minutes faster than last year. Even with all the walking, that’s about the time I expected.

Total: 3:45:52. ½ hr faster than last year.

The third place woman in my age group swam 27 minutes faster. Biked 4 min slower. Ran 4 min faster. Obvious area for work for me: THE SWIM!

There were 33 women in my age group (45-49)! Isn't that something? I am proud to be among so many strong, determined women my age.

I am so happy with my times aside from the swim. Frustrated as I was with the swim, I did feel strong. My hands were sore from all the pulling water, but my shoulders actually felt good, and are not very sore today. My hips, on the other hand...on the bike, I knew I'd be feeling it my hips today.

I was discouraged to finish so close to the end, but encouraged to see that it really was that goofy swim that pulled me back. I am very happy about my speedy transitions. YAY!
