If you want gaudy, check out Brian Baylis' bikes. Some of his are simply over the top.
Here's one that I saw in person, way too high on the frou-frou scale for my taste.

Jobob, there's someone who works across the st from me in Oakland with a Rivendel Saluki (sp?) that they ride to work. It's two tone cream and lavender, brown Brooks saddle, mustache handlebars....
