They have to go under your shorts if not, trust me on this, they will roll down. Put them on first and then your shorts. Yes you will have a weird bump lines under your shorts but oh well.

i do the same, i wear mine under my shorts. the are long enough that they go the full lenght of my leg (i'm vertically challenged). i find having them up that high also helps keep my legs warmer in the chilly weather. and i can wear them longer before putting on the heavy tights to keep me warm.

Under your shorts and pull them up so they don't come out from under your shorts as you ride. Yeah - I know, there's a crease there where the top of the leg warmer lies under your shorts, but I'm guessing if you're off the bike, that crease ain't the only thing anyone is looking at!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Hmmm...... I don't have leggies, I have knee warmers (cause Queensland has a much warmer climate year round) And I wear them comfortable OVER my shorts. I find when under the shorts the shorts slipped exposing my thighs to the cold breezes...

But they're all black so I can't tell the difference.

Arm warmers I also wear over because they slip too much otherwise.

appreciate all the responses (and the question). As this my first year, riding into the cooler temps means figuring out more new gear. I rode in shorts in the spring but the fall air once it comes, has a bite to it around here.
