I get a more aerodymic and snugger fit with no elastic. With elastic, I get a giant balloon of fabric around my middle. I remove the elastic and the jersey sits down on my hips properly.

Can't stand elastic! The first jersey my husband bought me had it in the waist and the hips. Yuck. I only buy Terry jerseys because they have nice styles with no elastic. I am thin, but my hips are a size bigger than my waist, which is small. The elastic at the bottom rides up to my waist! Then i get cold (or sunburned). I have a vest that has elastic and I am about to ditch it; it's a Pearl Izumi. The only time the elastic doesn't ride up is if the rest of the jersey is way too big on me.
